WHAT IS A WIRE BRUSH?
A wire brush is a tool comprising of a brush whose bristles are made of wire, most frequently carbon steel wire, which is very hard and springy. Brass or stainless steel bristles are also available. A wooden or plastic handle is normally designed for convenient use. Some wire brushes are also shaped into a wheel for use in some specific applications point processors, seat processors, single-handed grip drill engines, or other power tools.

1. The material of the wire
As we mentioned above, carbon steel, stainless steel, and brass are what we often used to make the bristles of a wire brush. Brass is a typically common material because a brass wire brush can be used to remove rust from almost any project. The stainless steel wire brush is usually applied for stainless steel, copper, brass, aluminum, and wood surface. Carbon steel wire brush works well on iron, carbon steel/ metal, or wood tools and surface.
1. The diameter of wire
We can choose the most suitable wire brush according to the thickness of the wire. Fine wire is a great choice for the application of light-duty jobs, while the coarse wire is normally paired with heavy-duty jobs.
1. The filament configuration
(1)Wire cup brush
This type of wire brush is named after its shape like a cup. It’s utilized to remove paint, welding scale, rust, and so on.
(2)Wire wheel brush
Wire wheel brushes are wheel-shaped brushing tools with sturdy hubs and metal wire filaments. They are used for cutting, cleaning, deburring, edge blending, polishing, and surface finishing
(3)End brush
End brushes are generally applied in some situations where space is limited. They are designed as a high-speed hand-held tool and suitable for some detailed work typically including cleaning metal gaps, polishing some industrial tools, etc.
(4)Grass trimmer head wire brush
This type of wire brush is utilized for cutting the grass or weeding the garden.
