What is a gravity latch?

   A gravity latch is a fingertip release latch. It has a simple self-closing mechanism that uses the weight of the closing gate to secure the arm within a metal catch.

People usually install these types of latches on the inside of the gate and are generally one-way.  People may only open the Latches  from the side they are mounted on unless the gate is short enough where one can reach over the gate. Latches are self-latching.

   To open the gate, you simply need to lift the latch with your finger.

   Gate latches are with a rust resistant zinc coating or with a black finish. There is a provision for a added padlock  .
