Choose The Best Rigging Hardware For Your Project
Anchor shackles, Hooks, Turnbuckles, Wire Rope Clips, Chains, and other rigging hardware can be used in conjunction with cranes or other lifting equipment to move loads that are too heavy to lift manually. A wide range of industries and applications use rigging every day to facilitate the movement of cargo and materials. Rigging may be largely taken for granted, but proper selection can make the difference between a safe, successful move and one that causes property damage or injury.
Strict safety guidelines must be followed to avoid accidents. There are several steps users should take to make sure everything is used correctly. These include:
l Familiarizing all users and stakeholders with information contained within equipment user manuals.
l Proper training on all rigging and lifting equipment for all operators.
l Conducting regular preventative maintenance on all rigging and lifting equipment.
l Adhering to all safety and operational standards set forth by OSHA and other regulating bodies.
The Different Types Of Rigging Hardware
Anchor Shackles
As a versatile tool for connecting lifting slings, wire rope, chain, Anchor Shackles are essential for a variety of rigging, lifting, pulling and hoisting applications. RF provides two main anchor shackles—Bend U-Bolt Shackles and Screw Pin Anchor Shackles.
Bend U-Bolt Shackles
The rounded design of Bend U-Bolt Shackles allow them to take loads from many directions without developing significant side load. The larger loop shape of a Bend U-Bolt Shackle does reduce its overall strength, but it is also able to handle a larger strap.
Screw Pin Anchor Shackles.
Screw Pin Anchor Shackles is narrower than Bend U-Bolt Shackles and generally have a threaded pin or pin close. The smaller loop is designed to take high loads primarily in line. Side and racking loads may twist or bend a U-Bolt Shackles.
Industrial Chains
Industrial Chain is one of the best selling products at AF. we provide various shapes and styles of Industrial chains, such as 30 Proof Square Pail of Chain, 30 Proof Barrel of Chain, 70 Proof Transport Chain and so on. Our chains are available in hot dipped galvanized or zinc. 30 Proof Chain is a heavy duty, high strength, welded steel chain. It is designed for use in towing, binding, logging and other applications requiring high strength chain. 30 Proof Chain is an excellent all-purpose commercial quality chain. 70 Proof Transport Chain is a high-strength steel chain that is ideal for securing cargo, recovering vehicles and removing tree stumps. Boasting heavy-duty welded construction, the high-quality chain's yellow zinc finish offers lasting weather resistance. It includes clevis grab hooks at each end. With a high working load limit, this chain meets transportation regulations.
Industrial Hooks
Mostly Industrial Hooks are equipped with a safety latch to prevent the hook or load slipping of. Hooks can be used in combination with wires or chains.RF provides three main Industrial Hooks—Clevis Hooks, Clevis Slip Hooks and Chain, and Weld on Grab Hooks. They are all made of forged steel and their max working load limit ranges from 3,500 lbs. to 12,000 lbs. Clevis Slip Hooks and Weld On Grab Hooks are Grade 43, While Clevis has two grades—Grade 70 and Grade 43. Clevis Hooks are forged cargo hooks to be paired with required transport chain for heavy-duty cargo control. They are designed to be used with grade 70 or greater chain for load hauling or load securement. Clevis hooks are used to hook back into the chain between the links, connect separate pieces of chain or shorten chain length. Meanwhile, RF also offers custom services for our customers and support your Hardware needs. Come and share your ideas about Industrial Hooks.
Turnbuckles
Turnbuckles are constructed with a long sleeve with internal screw threads that accept a variety of fittings used to pull anchor points closer together or push them apart by turning the turnbuckle body. We carry a full line of turnbuckle hardware including eye and eye, hook and eye, hook and hook, jaw and eye, as well as jaw and jaw in various sizes from small turn buckles to large turnbuckles. Turnbuckles are necessary equipment in marine rigging and architecture industries. Our Turnbuckles are hot dip galvanized or zinc for durability and long life. Boat rigging and marine rigging industries utilize the turnbuckle as a valuable part of their sailboat hardware/rigging hardware. In galvanized turnbuckles, the turnbuckle eyes are forged elongated to minimize stress on the eye fitting and make attachment to sailing hardware easier. The turnbuckle jaw features either a nut/bolt or pin/cotter pin to secure the turnbuckles to cabling.
Wire rope Clips
RF has a line of Wire Rope Clips in hot dipped galvanized and zinc plated finishes to best suit your job’s requirements. A Wire Rope Clip, also called a clamp, cable clamp, wire rope clamp, U-Clip, U-Clamp, is used to fix the loose end of the loop back to the wire rope. It usually consists of a U-shaped bolt, a forged or cast saddle and two nuts. The two layers of wire rope are placed in the U-bolt. The saddle is then fitted over the ropes on to the bolt (the saddle includes two holes to fit to the U-bolt). The nuts secure the arrangement in place. OEM style Zinc Malleable Wire Rope Clip is one of the besting selling products in Rigging Hardware.

Choosing the Best Hardware for Rigging and Lifting
With so many options, it’s important to differentiate between each piece of equipment and figure out what is best for each unique lifting situation. The correct choice of rigging hardware depends on many variables, such as the different weather conditions they must withstand, the materials they are interacting with, and the industry that is using them.
Rigging is a versatile discipline. Divers use rigging hardware such as bolt snaps and D-rings to attach valuable items to fins, masks, regulators, ventilators, and tanks. Snap hooks, anchor chains, and trailer safety chains do a similar job as sailboat rigging hardware. Different harnesses may be used as saddle rigging hardware for horses, depending on the work load (breast collar harnesses for light work, breast strap harnesses for more strenuous activity). Rigging hardware is also useful for other recreational activities. Links, snaps, eye bolts, and D-rings are all useful ways to stay safe while rock climbing or water skiing.
Rigging hardware is an invaluable source of safety in many industrial, commercial, and recreational applications.RF Industrial Products offers a wide range of solutions for your rigging needs. If you have any questions or want to request a quote, please contact us here.
